A ‘theft’ in the house of a ‘thief’ : Corona Chronicle #071
Seven men in early June had decided to rob a electronics shop.
The shop was ungaurded and shut due to the nationwide lockdown.
They robbed equipment worth almost Rupees 5.5 lakh.
When the owner got to know about the loot, he ran to the police to lodge a complaint.
The police arrested all the seven suspects and had to get them tested for Covid- 19 before putting them in jails.
5 of these thieves were tested positive and so now their families were to be tested too.
The thieves were sent to JJ Hospital for treatment and when their families tested positive they were shifted to quarantine centres in Deonar and Sidhart Nagar.
There was no other option for the family members but to lock their houses.
His family also did the same when they were taken on 8th June to get them hospitalised.
On June 15th, he received a terrible news from his neighbours.
Someone had broken into his house and stolen 2.5 lakh in cash and 2 lakh worth jewellery.
He is 45 years old and lives in Malekar Wadi in Chembur.
A police complaint has been filed for the same.
