His duty became his path to nirvana : Corona Chronicle #081

He was driving an 108 ambulance as a corona warrior.

His wife was telling him since a long time to take break but he was resilient.

He said that it is his duty to help the people in shifting patients to the hospital for timely treatment in such a crucial time of  pandemic.

On 27th May at around 9 AM, his wife received a call.

The call was from his colleague whose voice was broken.

He was suffering from a severe chest pain and they took him to a private clinic.

The private clinic told them to take him SDM Hospital but he left for his heavenly abode on the way.

He passed away because of heart attack on duty.

He had been driving an ambulance for the past 9 years.

During the lockdown, the money was draining out fast.

His wife was shook and devastated from the loss of her beloved husband.

There was another problem hanging on her head like a sword as she did not have money for his last rites.

He was working so hard day and night but he was not given his salary for almost 3 months.

She was looking at his dead body and just couldn’t understand what she has to do.

She realised that she could pawn her “mangalsutra”.

The money would atleast help in the last rites of her husband.

The “mangalsutra” was the last remembrance of her husband.

He used to work atleast 12 to 14 hours a day without a break since the coronavirus pandemic hit the world.

They had 2 children, Vinayak who is 12 and Vishwanath who is 7.

His name was Umesh Hadagali and was just 38 years old.

His duty became his path to nirvana.
