Salute to BRAVE HEARTS! : Corona Chronicle #088

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was in full swing to conduct the antigen tests on residents.

The only issue was that the number of volunteers were less and they needed passionate people to have a success.

The Additional Commissioner of PMC decided to go to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to get some volunteers.

He was expecting that he would get a few volunteers and could atleast have a slow start with his project.

He contacted the Vice Chancellor of SPPU and he requested to help in deploy on site point of care rapid antigen detection test.

Once the word got out in the campus, 300 students came forward to volunteer.

The number was large and so was the smiles on the Vice Chancellor and the Additional Commissioner.

The Additional Commissioner never thought that such a huge number of student would come forward and take this project in hand with an amazing speed.

The students think that this is a great way to get exposure in the field of medical sciences.

They are students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses especially from the science field.

The students will have to undergo training which will be online due to the nationwide lockdown.

The PMC will provide the students with medical insurance cover, a stipend and protective gear.

Three students are to be deployed at each antigen testing centre.
