Devil had a stethoscope around his neck : Corona Chronicle #116

He was tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted in Krishna Hospital in Bhavnagar.

His oxygen saturation level was going down from the same day.

His condition was deteriorating and his wife was panicking.

She went to the head doctor and asked him if they could get help from a specialist.

The main doctor was Dr. Katariya who brought Dr. Jinal Mehta who is a chest specialist for the check up.

She told his son in law that he needed two shots of Remedesivir injection as soon as possible.

The family now began their hunt for the injection.

They asked him all leading pharmacy stores but there were zero results.

When they went to BIMS Hospital’s pharmacy, they found out that they had sold 6 vials of Remedesivir on the basis of an Aadhar Card and the COVID-19 report of a patient names Chandrakant as well as a prescription on Krishna Hospital’s  letterhead signed by Dr. Amit Patel.

When his son in law found this out, he was really upset and angry at the same time.

He asked his family whether they had gone to this pharmacy and it turned out that someone used their documents to purchase the medicine.

When he confronted Dr. Katariya about the same, he said that there was no issue from his hospital.

However, the doctor later confessed to the patients son that he purchased the six vials and has sold them to another patient at the hospital.

The rest of the doses were the other patients family.

The doctor gave them an address and asked them to get the rest of the vials.

When he came back with two vials, he got to know that his father has left for his heavenly abode.

The family has filed a complaint with the police against the two doctors but no arrests have been made yet.

The family feels like they made a mistake and could have arranged for a medicine sooner and saved his life.

The name of the deceased was Chandrakant and he was 73 years old.
